Send a Newsletter

Last updated 1 November 2026

A newsletter is an email to all of your customers. It's the quickest way to share news, a change in opening hours or a seasonal message. The email has no Bookingly branding and every email includes an unsubscribe link.

Marketing needs to be turned on for your account and you need the Newsletters permission. If you don't see Marketing in the main menu, contact us through the chat button.

Send one

  1. Open Marketing and select Newsletter.
  2. Enter an Email subject.
  3. Write your message under Message. The preview beside it shows how the email will look, using a sample customer name. You can add placeholders such as the customer's name from the placeholder list.
  4. Select Send test to me to receive a copy first. Do this every time. It's the best way to catch a typo.
  5. Select Review & send.

Review who will receive it

The review screen shows:

  • Will receive: customers who will get the email.
  • Opted out: customers who have unsubscribed from marketing emails. They are never emailed.
  • No email address: customers you have no email for.

Check the email preview, then select Send to and the number of recipients. The newsletter is queued and sent in the background, so it's fine to leave the page.

After it's sent

Sent newsletters appear under One-off campaigns, marked "(Newsletter)". The emails themselves are listed under Messages.

Good to know

  • Newsletters go to every customer, including guests who booked without an account.
  • Newsletters can't be scheduled. They are sent as soon as you confirm.
  • Newsletters are email only. Text messages aren't supported.
  • Customers who unsubscribe are respected immediately, and stay unsubscribed for future campaigns too.
